Components
- One kilogram of cassava
- frying oil
- season with salt as desired
Setup phase
- Using a sharp knife, peel the manioc. Cut it into 8 cm long pieces. Then, cut each piece in half, and cut each half in half once more. Rinse the pieces briefly under running water to remove any dirt. Set aside and cover.
- In a large pot, add the maniocs and salt, then cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Allow it to cook for 10 minutes, or until the maniocs become tender. To test, pierce a few pieces with a fork. If they are soft, they are done.
- Use a sieve to remove the water from the maniocs and allow them to cool.
- In a standard pan, add enough oil to submerge the maniocs and heat it on high.
- Once the oil is heated, add the manioc pieces and cook them until they turn a light golden color.
- Gently take off the casings using a skimmer and lay them on a plate lined with paper towels.
- Add salt to taste and serve immediately.
