Soaked orange flower buds

Components
  • Three oranges from the bay area
  • 3 tablespoons of orange-flavored liqueur
Setup phase
  1. To peel the oranges: with a sharp kitchen knife, slice off and discard the ends (the base and the top); place the orange base on the cutting board and remove the peel and white pith by cutting from top to bottom, following the shape of the fruit.
  1. To segment the fruit: hold the peeled fruit in your hand over a bowl; make a “V” cut along the membranes (the white lines of the orange) that divide the segments; allow the segments and juice to drop into the bowl, and continue until all the segments are removed from the fruit.
  2. Soak the orange peels in liqueur, cover them, and refrigerate. Allow them to marinate for at least 15 minutes before serving. Pair the ice cream with cakes, pies, ice cream, or cream.
